Dear Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) member:

The exciting news is that we have a new DCMP Web site!

The site reflects our new program services and enhancements. You know that we changed our name a year ago from Captioned Media Program (CMP) to DCMP. While we remain committed to ensuring that our educational media is captioned, we will also add description to all new media items for students who are blind, visually impaired, or deaf-blind. Some of this media will include first-ever options on our DVDs, which will allow a user to select new accessibility features, such as enhanced captions and expanded description. To learn about this, check out this page on our new Web site.

Also, the new site is screen-reader compatible. It further provides members the ability to customize the appearance of its pages (e.g., there is a text-only option, and you can change font sizes and types to suit your preferences). There is also a searchable portal that includes links to information from major educational and consumer groups.

We told you it was exciting!

In order to better serve you, all existing clients will need to complete a quick reregistration process. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but it is necessary to confirm eligibility for use of our media library

Please log in using the link to the left of the DCMP home page (www.dcmp.org). You can log in with your existing CMP/DCMP account number and password just as you have in the past (e.g., 20000-1). Upon logging in, you will be asked to create a NEW username and password combination for all future times you log in. You will then be asked to complete a Level 2 membership form to reregister before you can place orders.

Anyone not qualified for Level 2 membership will still qualify for Level 1 membership. Membership levels are explained as follows:

  • Member - Level 1: In addition to accessing information services on our site, you can create a username/password for future log-ins, save your Web site preferences, save customized favorite listings of media items from our catalog, and elect to receive newsletters concerning information on new content and services.
Go to our registration page to register.

  • Member - Level 2: This level of membership includes all benefits of Level 1 plus full use of our FREE-LOAN accessible media library. This library is to benefit students who are blind, visually impaired, deaf, hard of hearing, or deaf-blind. Qualifying applicants include K-12 school personnel serving these students, these students' families, and others whose use of the media benefits at least one such student.
Go to our registration page to register.

Normal processing time of applications is 2 business days. You will receive an e-mail response with instructions for borrowing media.

Thank you for your interest in the DCMP!
