DCMP Launches Flash-Based Streaming Video
The DCMP is proud to announce a major step forward for its streamed media: beginning immediately, all new streamed titles will be presented in Flash video format! We will also be converting many existing DCMP titles to the new format, based upon usage statistics. (E-mail the DCMP if you have some titles in mind that you’d like to see converted to Flash.)
Flash video is the format of choice for many of the top content providers on the Web (e.g., YouTube/Google Video, Vimeo, Hulu, CBS, NBC), and the Adobe Flash Player is installed in nearly 99% of all Web browsers. What does that mean to DCMP members? No more “lagging” or “blocky” video, vastly superior picture quality (especially when video is maximized to full-screen), a familiar interface, and—best of all—no external application (i.e., RealPlayer) needed to play streaming media!
See For Yourself
Instead of reading this announcement, why not take some of the new titles for a test drive by visiting our list of new Flash-based titles? If you’re not yet a Level 2 member and you meet the program qualifications, this is a perfect opportunity to register for a Level 2 DCMP membership so that you (and your students) can experience even better access to educational media.
